About Cornflower

Cornflower, also known as Centaurea cyanus, is an enchanting annual plant that brings a splash of vibrant blue to gardens and fields. Native to Europe, it has become a beloved wildflower across the globe. Cornflowers thrive in full sun and well-drained soil, and they are often found gracing meadows, roadsides, and cultivated lands.

These flowers feature dainty, tufted petals that form a distinctive star shape, making them popular in floral arrangements and bouquets. Beyond their ornamental appeal, cornflowers are edible and have been used in herbal remedies for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. They can be sprinkled on salads, infused in teas, or used to garnish dishes for a pop of color. In addition to their aesthetic and culinary uses, cornflowers attract beneficial insects like bees and butterflies, supporting local ecosystems. With their hardy nature and captivating hue, cornflowers are a treasured addition to any landscape.

I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers.
